Matters Arising

Owing to other commitments on Regatta Day, there appear to be insufficient volunteers available to run the usual LBG prize stall. It was agreed that prizes already offered would be used for the proposed “Light Up Lostwithiel” Cheese and Wine fund raising event due to be held in September.

St Minver band have been booked for Late Night Shopping evening on 16th December.

A letter has been received from Lostwithiel Town Council in response to LBG’s letter and petition opposed to closure of the Public Toilets.  The council’s letter stated it was unlikely that the toilets would be closed down.

Chairman’s Report

AB highlighted events of the Business Group during the past year. These included:

  • Late Night Shopping evening last December
  • Sponsorship of 2004 Lostwithiel In Bloom competition
  • Promotion of Lostwithiel during Du Maurier week in Fowey
  • Organising of petition to save Public toilets.

AB had been contacted by publishers of the Coach Driver’s Year Book with a view to entry in next year’s edition which costs £70. The meeting agreed there is currently no business being generated from coaches visiting Lostwithiel and until such time as there was improved coach parking facilities we should not pay to be included in this guide.

The meeting wished the venture success.  The introduction of cycle hire was a welcome additional attraction for visitors.
